We are happy and grateful that only the bimini supports were broken. Surprisingly, our two, old, Rutland 910 wind generators came through without a scratch! In our preparations, there wasn't even time to take off the blades so I just tied them up. The weld at the base of the portside generator support pole was broken, but the generator absolutely fine. That's a lot of force! I was thinking of replacing the wind gens for something newer, quieter, and with more power output. Wow was I surprised to see them tied exactly as I left them. We've heard estimated winds were 160 knots! We can send pictures if you'd like. Would your newer models withstand as much? We are greatly impressed! The product is well made and lasts in an environment which destroys most equipment after a few years. I have a Rutland 504 wind generator which is now 13 years old and still going strong. Recently I sent it back to have some new blades and bearings, the work was done at a reasonable cost and without any fuss. STEPHEN DEREK PARRY, , | Brilliant service - I purchased a Rutland 1200 in October 2018, its performed as per the specification, even from quite low wind speeds which having been a Rutland 913 user for some years was an eye opener. I had some transmitted noise down the support poles but after I'd filled them with Fire Foam the problem all but disappeared. The main support pole only needed a small amount, coating the pole and wires with WD 40 seemed a good idea for future times. A fault with the controller developed this year, I made the phone call to report the fault, to cut a long story short. I received great support over the phone and was asked to return the MPPT controller which was supplied when I bought the Rutland 1200 last year. The controller was replaced with a new one using the latest firmware and software, I was kept up to date as to events, even down to a couple of messages from the courier who arrived exactly on time. Great customer service, fast turn around and friendly service from everyone I had contact with. I can highly recommend Marlec both for the product I purchased and the back up I've received.
