What types of Rutland Windchargers can be used?

Rutland 504 efurl – Generates wind power for Caravans, Campers, Motorhomes

At less than 5kg the Rutland 504efurl model proves very convenient for storage and handling.  It can be quickly mounted on a  4-6m tower at temporary locations or a fixing that attaches to the vehicle can be raised on site to get up and running.

Typical battery sizes from 60 – 150Ah.

Rutland 914i – Generates wind power for Caravans, Campers, Motorhomes

Motorhomes with high energy demands the Rutland 914i will prove a powerful addition the charging regime on board.  It can be mounted on a pole positioned alongside and supported by the motorhome, 4 – 6m high.  A pivot type pole may be mounted on or alongside the rooftop to raise the turbine with supports when stationary.

Typical battery sizes from 150Ah.

Rutland FM910-4 Furlmatic – Generates wind power for caravans (Static), Off Grid Homes or permanently mounted locations

This well tried and tested turbine has proven itself probably the most durable small turbine on the market for it’s endurance at isolated and unattended sites around the world.  It’s furling tail system works to slow down the turbine in wind speeds over 12.5m/s (35mph).  Its reliability has been demonstrated on thousands of sites around the world over the last 30 years with many units in service for over 15 years.
If it’s a windy location then you can rely on the Rutland Furlmatic model to capture that energy!

Why is the Rutland so Unique?

Purpose designed turbine

  • Marlec was the first wind generator manufacturer to design it’s aerofoil blades and generator specifically as a wind turbine to maximise power conversion.

Low wind speed start up

  • We developed our stator windings without an iron core for low friction so a Rutland offers the lowest wind speed start up by far of any design.
  • Reliable Components – We encapsulate the stator coils in glass fibre to avoid common stator failures

Simple, effective design

  • We have a fixed the shaft reducing the number of rotating parts and the need for generator brushes. We use two single magnets moulded into glass fibre avoiding the use of multiple magnets glued into position.

  • Built-in slipring & low wear brushes give the unit complete 360º free rotation on the mounting pole for power transmission whilst avoiding twisted cables.

Quiet, smooth and continous power generation

  • These features create a high inertia generator whose flywheel effect generates smooth, continuous power between gusts when other wind turbines have lost the power in the wind and stall between gusts.
