The Furlmatic FM910-3 is Marlec’s purpose designed land based windcharger. Wherever there is a site that is unattended, remote and exposed the FM910-3 can be relied on to deliver power quietly and efficiently. Professional applications such as monitoring, telemetry, communications, isolated agricultural sites, navigation aids, military field applications, rural street lighting and remote homes or year round mobile home installations are all established uses for the FM910-3.

The Furlmatic model’s “furling” device that tilts the turbine horizontally at right angles to the prevailing wind at windspeeds above 35mph (15m/s) This protects the turbine from the forces of excessive winds and reduces stresses on the turbine and tower. The original Furlmatic model has undergone a number of product improvements over the years and here are some of the latest:

· Increased power achieved through the 3 phase alternator, 80% more power than the original model!
· Tail boom and swivel materials now in stainless steel for greater durability
· Thermostatic alternator protection now operates to slow the turbine down in prolonged high winds.
· Fixing to the tower is now a spigot that fits to an internal diameter pole of 41mm in line with the Rutland 913 and this component is distinctively blue anodised to prevent oxidisation with the pole.

It retains its basic design which has been proven time and again in the harshest of environments under critical power supply requirements eg. seismic monitoring in Antarctica, communications for Himalayan expeditions.
